If you haven’t already seen it, my Computer Systems and Networks – Artificial Intelligence Unit for Y5/6 is available for free download, just in time for AI Awareness Day (4th June). I was down to speak at the fabulous Digit<all> charity STEM conference on how to introduce an approach to AI in the classroom, and was able to showcase some of the resources from the unit…

Some really insightful talks and workshops; in particular the keynote from Grace Blake and Kiara Jones on Future digital skills for young people, and Matt Hewlett’s final words on AI and Future Skills gave us all something to contemplate. It was also such a pleasure to get to know people better after seeing their names all over the place, then finally meeting them in the flesh! Andrew Csizmadia in particular, I look forward to working with you in the future!
To summarise, I’m going to quote Hayley from Sniff and Snails:
“These conversations reinforce why we do what we do. The future needs more than consumers of technology and AI. It needs creators, inventors, problem-solvers and curious thinkers from EVERY background. And that starts with giving children opportunities to make, build, experiment and discover that technology belongs to them too.”
It was such a great day, with such great people, the work of Digit<all> is incredible, go check them out! Even at our Digit<all> ambassadors dinner, we couldn’t resist getting the physical computing kit out!

A massive thanks to Pete Marshman and the team for putting on such a great event and running such a groundbreaking and helpful organisation.
