Global Good Awards – Winners!

That’s right, you heard correctly! We scooped up a bronze at the Global Good Awards!

When I say we, I mean digit<all> charity, whom I’ve been consulting for and creating some fantastic projects promoting sustainability and exploring climate issues, primarily using Micro:bits. The Bronze award was in the Education Excellence category; we were told repeatedly how tough the criteria was to get an award, so sharing the stage with the likes of Octopus Energy and other major companies, was really quite an achievement!

The Global Good Awards are about building platforms to learn, share and progress ideas; and encouraging the development of engaged and ethical business practices as well as the democratisation of sustainability.

Digit<all> is run by the fabulous Pete Marshman, shown in the pic with me above.

For the charity, I’ve created the spider silk resource, which uses Micro:bits to simulate how far web will stretch, and how the sensitivity of a web can detect prey or predator. This project promotes how we can learn from nature to improve our own technology, particularly in the field of medicine and healthcare.

I’ve also created the projects based on wind turbines, and solar panel trackers. All of them area free to download!

It was an absolute honour to attend and pick up this prestigious award, I’m hoping even greater things will be emerging from digit<all> in the near future!

Also, I deliver free CPD for them for primary computing, take a look at our courses here: digit<all> events and CPD
